Mediencommunity – The community of practice of the media and print industry / Social Augmented Learning (SAL)

The media community is the branch community of practice for the media and print industry. Trainees, skilled workers and students all use this network to prepare for examinations or obtain specialist information. Comprehensive lexicons, wiki’s and learning groups are available. Social Augmented Learning is a form of learning for trainees, via which processes in machines are made capable of being visually experienced with the assistance of augmented reality.

Stages for the use of Social Augmented Learning

  1. Definition of a useful learning topic – e.g. internal machine processes which are not directly viewable
  2. Acquisition of 3D model (e.g. via a production company) and preparation for tablet use
  3. Feedback with SAL project partners on conditions of use if the topic is located outside the print industry
  4. Import of the 3D model in the author environment
  5. Preparation of contents by trainers/teachers
